In short, the #LMAA, or Lend Me an Artist challenge is an effort to help STARTS WITH US identify possible illustrators for our upcoming picture book, I'll Lend You My Daddy by Becky King.  If we find a match, that illustrator will be offered a contract to illustrate the book. Please note: all illustrator submissions will also be kept on file for consideration for future projects with STARTS WITH US.

Also, we can't forget our writers too.  During #LMAA, writers will have an opportunity to submit to STARTS WITH US for feedback and consideration for future books when they show their support for our cause. 

In I'll Lend You My Daddy, young boys and girls find ways to manage their feelings during their father's deployment (from goodbyes to the first night to missed birthdays). Through the support of family and friends, care packages, and calls, these children grow strong with the knowledge of what it means to serve, generating a source for pride from within, which makes glorious reunions all the more sweeter by book’s end.

Perfect for ages 4-8, I'll Lend You My Daddy is a universal story told by military wife and mother Becky King, whose heartwarming rhyme and imagery will resonate with children and families looking for hope, inspiration, and courage.
